Warren Township is seeking a motivated equipment operator/laborer.

Warren Township is hiring an Equipment Operator/Laborer. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team.

DESCRIPTION: This is a part-time, as needed, skilled maintenance position with the Township. The employee performs a variety of tasks related to the Township infrastructure and buildings involving the operation of Township vehicles, equipment and manual labor.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY: – The employee reports and receives work assignments from the Township Roadmaster as needed.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Equipment:

            drives trucks

            snow removal

            operates minor equipment

Infrastructure:

            paves/patches roads

            installs signs

            mowing/brush clearing

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Make minor repairs to equipment.

            Change tires.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: – The employee must be able to see, hear, walk, stand, squat, shovel, rake, move 50 pounds from one location to another, climb stairs and ladders, climb in and out of ditches, manholes, inlets, etc. The employee works outside daily and is exposed to dirt, dust, noise, grease, oil, diesel fuel, gasoline, sewage, fumes, water, cold, heat, snow and rain. in addition, the employee must be able to drive all township trucks and operate the following equipment: backhoe, roller, mowing tractors, chain saws, pumps and air compressors.  The employee must be able to use a pipe laser, transit or level, a ruler or other measuring equipment and basic hand tools.

MENTAL DEMANDS: – The employee must be able to read and write at a high school level, reason and solve problems. The employee interacts with residents frequently and is often in the public eye and must act accordingly.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: – The employee should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months experience, in a construction or public works job entailing duties similar to those required for this position. In addition, the employee should have a basic knowledge of construction practices, mechanics, confined spaces and trench work.

SKILLS – The employee must be able to drive all township trucks and operate all township public works equipment.

REQUIRED LICENSES: – PA driver’s license or equivalent.

Warren Township, Franklin County located at 11637 Little Cove Road Mercersburg, PA 17236 is currently seeking sealed bids from PennDot approved vendors for road work, including approximately 6,222 sq yards of 1800 gallon E.I. Prime and #67 and approximately 38,366 sq yards of double seal. 

The sealed bids will be received by Madalyn Lander, Township Secretary.  They should be clearly marked “SEALED BID” and sent to 11637 Little Cove Road, Mercersburg, PA 17236 by no later than Monday, August 8, where they will be opened at an open meeting at 7:00 pm and read in front of the attending public.

Warren Township is currently seeking bids for a mechanic. All sealed bids are due by Monday, August 2 , and should be marked “MECHANIC SEALED BID”.

Warren Township, Franklin County located at 11637 Little Cove Road Mercersburg, PA 17236 is currently seeking sealed bids for a licensed mechanic to work on all township vehicles, including an F450 plow truck and an F550 plow truck. Work will include all regular maintenance as well as emergency repairs, as needed, through the 2022 calendar year. Please be advised that due to the nature of the equipment, repairs may need to be made off hours.
The sealed bids will be received by Madalyn Lander, Township Secretary.
